Bowling
The bowling season usually takes place from Easter to September.East Park has many local bowling clubs playing at the site.They are always Looking for new members.There are 3 greens available each with 6 rinks.Pre booking is made thru the reception or 300300 .
the use of special mats are manditory .these mats help protect the playing surface thus ensuring the best possible playing conditions during the season.

Outdoor Gym
The outdoor gym was introduced in 2010 making a unique feature in the park promoting exercise for all abilities using a persons own body weight. full instructions are posted at the equipment on how to use it..This equipment is available to use 365 days a year and is free.

Swan Boats
The swan peddle boats were introduced to replace the old hand pedalos which were run from the old motorboats compound at the old jetty which was located near to the bridge.These boats are 2 or 5 seaters and require users to wear a life jacket this was introduced in summer 2010.The boats run for the period of the school summer holidays at a cost of £2,60 per boat as of summer 2011.Please note boats are not allowed past the bridge to the east side of the lake or on the islands. 11am to 5pm daily.
Water Chute
The Famous Water Chute or Splash boat as it is also known is one of the most popular attractions at east park.It opens for the School Summer Holidays.The well known sound of the boat going down the rails echoes around the park and crowds gather at the viewing area.The wicksteed boat as it is officially known is one of 3 boats in the country.The other 2 are located at Scarborough and Northampton.The water chute was refurbished as part of the lottery funding for the regeneration of the park.it now has its own moat enclosure so the lake water levels will no longer effect the running of the boat . A new winch was also fitted and some other modifications done.In 2009 a Splash boat experience day took place were you could ride for the price of an old penny this usually takes place in august. .

The remaining wicksteed Boats.
The only three in existence are a reminder of vintage park rides of old.But only the east park and wicksteed park boats are of the same design down to the buildings that house the boats.with the metal stair case.The wicksteed boat still sports its water deflector to reduce splash.As the east park boat is about third generation restored.

Water Play Area

This play area was another part of the refurbishment and stands on the old animal compound site.
With a fountain section at its top end and toilets onsite it is very popular in the summer months for paddling and picnics.No dogs are allowed in this area.
a state of the art filtration system and pleasant pool surroundings make for a relaxing environment.Restrictions apply around the pool area and these are posted on the entrances.
Manned by a Park Attendant during the holidays . pool open daily during the summer hols. Toilets are provided on the site.Please remember this area gets very busy so keep children in sight at all times.

Playground
Sited on the old chute field the playground was opened in 2006.Replacing the 2 playgrounds that were located on the aec site and the ability cycle site.The new playground boasts picnic benches and a help point. it is also covered by a CCTV camera.It caters for all children's ages with various types of equipment including a zip slide and specialized equipment for disabled children.The area is a no dog area.
The playground is soon to have a new addittional toddlers area added .which will be sited to the rear of the zip slide
It is designed exclusivley with purpose built play equipment for toddlers .The equipment chosen was picked in a survey done with family groups in the park which families thought was the best designed for there childrens play.

Fishing
Angling is provided 365 days a year on the lake with no closed season.Yearly passes are available from the rangers as well as day tickets.You can fish almost anywhere around the lake except for the front area of the lake around the boathouse and water chute.Ask a member of staff if you have any queries.
Anglers are advised that they must be in possession of a valid rod license and adhere to the park angling rules and regulations which can be found on this site.

All anglers must pack up and leave the park before close. There is no night fishing allowed
